Ruck - Backdraft Damper
For other sizes, please visit our AC Infinity damper page.
A backdraft damper is used to control airflow in grow tents, grow rooms, and ventilation systems. It helps prevent unwanted backflow when fans are off, supporting more stable temperature and humidity control. By limiting reverse airflow, it also helps reduce odor escape, minimizes light leaks through ducting, and improves overall airflow efficiency.
Backdraft dampers can also help reduce noise caused by air turbulence and pressure changes in ducting systems. Commonly used with inline fans, carbon filters, and exhaust systems, they are suitable for indoor growing, hydroponics, HVAC applications, and general ventilation.
Compatible with standard round ducting in multiple sizes.
For hydro/grow usage, these are mainly useful for:
- Preventing cold Calgary winter backdrafts
- Reducing smell leakage when fans shut off
- Stopping insects/dust from entering passive duct runs
- Preventing wind-induced reverse spinning on inline fans
