Rockwool

Rockwool is a popular hydroponic growing medium used for starting seeds, rooting clones, and growing plants in drip irrigation and slab systems. Made from spun mineral fibers, rockwool cubes and slabs hold moisture well while still allowing air to reach the roots, helping plants access both water and oxygen.

Hydroponic rockwool products such as Grodan starter cubes, Macroplugs, blocks, and slabs are commonly used in propagation trays and full hydroponic systems. Before use, rockwool cubes should be soaked in pH-adjusted water (around 5.5–5.8) to condition the medium.
