Grodan GRO-BLOCK Improved Mini-Blocks are compact stonewool growing blocks designed for propagation, early plant development and transplanting in hydroponic and soil-less growing systems.

Grodan's Improved stonewool technology uses an advanced wetting agent and optimized fibre structure to provide more even moisture distribution throughout the block, more stable root-zone EC and improved use of the available substrate volume.

These 2" Mini-Blocks are an excellent choice for seeds, rooted cuttings and young plants before transplanting into larger Grodan blocks, hydroponic systems, coco, soil or other growing media.

How to Use

1. Saturate the block before use. For starting cuttings, Grodan recommends water adjusted to approximately pH 5.5–6.5.
2. If submerging the block to saturate it, keep it under the solution until bubbling stops, then allow excess solution to drain naturally.
3. Do not squeeze the block. Compressing stonewool can reduce the air space available to developing roots.
4. Insert the seed, cutting or rooted starter into the pre-formed planting hole.
5. When transplanting an established starter into a new Grodan block, saturate the new block using the same-strength nutrient solution currently being fed to the plant.
6. Keep the block moist while roots establish, but avoid overwatering and do not allow the block to sit in standing water.

Designed for Easy Transplanting

The Mini-Block stays around the root system during transplanting, helping reduce root disturbance. Once established, the entire block can be moved into a larger Grodan block or another compatible growing medium.

This makes Mini-Blocks useful as the first stage of a modular Grodan growing system, while still allowing growers to move plants into coco, soil or other hydroponic systems if preferred.
