The Cold Snap Plant Frost Cover is a breathable garden frost blanket designed to protect vegetables, flowers, herbs, shrubs and other vulnerable plants from light frost, drying winds and sudden temperature changes.

Made from 50 g/m² spunbond polypropylene, the fabric helps retain warmth around plants while allowing air, water and a portion of natural light to pass through. Unlike solid plastic coverings, its breathable construction helps release excess heat and moisture.

Use it to extend the autumn harvest, protect plants during an unexpected cold snap or provide seasonal protection for small trees and shrubs.

When properly installed, this heavy-duty plant frost cover provides protection from light frost and temperatures down to approximately −3°C.

Actual protection will depend on wind, exposure, ground temperature, installation and the duration of the cold conditions. This product is intended for light frost protection and is not a substitute for a heated greenhouse during severe or prolonged freezing weather.

Frost Blanket and Floating Row Cover

This versatile fabric can also be used as a floating row cover. It may help protect garden crops from certain insect pests and reduce moisture loss caused by wind.

The frost cloth can be placed directly over low-growing crops or supported above plants using hoops, stakes or a simple frame. Supporting the fabric is recommended for tall or delicate plants that could be damaged by the weight of the material. NO FRAME IS INCLUDED WITH THE PRODUCT.

How to Use a Plant Frost Cover

1. Install the frost blanket before temperatures begin to fall.
2. Cover the entire plant or garden bed and extend the fabric to ground level.
3. Leave enough space around taller plants to avoid damaging branches and foliage.
4. Secure all edges with soil, boards, stones, landscape staples or other suitable weights.
5. Check the cover regularly and uncover flowering plants when pollinator access is required.

Extending the fabric to the ground on every side helps retain warmth released by the soil and generally provides better protection than wrapping only the upper foliage.
